San Francisco-based artist Sean Newport has produced a range of artwork pieces from design to sculpture during his career. Working primarily as a woodworker, Newport has sharpened his skills as a carpenter to fine artist over the past five years. His carvings deal with “perceived notions of reality and the idea of creating a digital aesthetic through analogue processes.” This is accomplished by shaping wood into three-dimensional shapes, and then painting and designing them in ways that allow patterns to arise from unique geometric designs.
